Like Family

Friday night was a tough one for me. Mom called and said that what we figured was true-TJ has a tumor. It's a bad one, pushing from one side into the other lobe of the brain. The vets said they could do chemo/radiation, but these types of tumors don't respond well to treatment. It's probably been going on for up to 6 months, and it's probably genetic. So, they sent him home with prednizone and said to make him comfortable and give him lots of love. By Saturday, he had perked up quite a bit and Mom said he was more like himself. I hope to go home and see him, spend a little time with him, before things get too bad.

I broke down many times on the way up north. I just can't imagine life without that little bugger. He's asked for so little and given so much happiness.

With the rain we've been experiencing for the last few weeks, I need some sunshine. I spent 3 hours last night planting flowers and putzing around outside. I can't sit still, I don't want to sit still. I did the laundry, I did the bills, I sent out some mail, printed out some pictures, you get the idea. Tonight, cleaning the basement.

We did have a nice, all be it short, trip to Babbitt. It was good to see Alex and hang out with him. He's got quite the attitude these days-the terrible two's have set in. He really likes the word "NO". Imagine that? And when he wants something from his Uncle, he just keeps saying, "Mike. MIKE! MIKE! MIKE!" What's cute is when you point to someone and ask who it is. It cracks me up. "Das Grandpa!" "Das Bob!" It was good to have a little one around for some smiles.

And, Joey the Wonder Dog is going to win us $10,000 hopefully! America's Funniest Home Videos (which I never watch, but caught last weekend) is looking for your ugliest dog videos. Well, Joey is a Husky-Wiener Dog mix. Can you get any stranger? He's a cutie. We taped him playing with his favorite bowling ball and pin. He barks and paws at the ball because it drives him nuts that he can't pick it up! I told him if he wins me any money, I'll buy him all the bones he can eat. :)
