Moving On Up

It's official, we are completely moved in. What a process!

Although we are going to be living amongst boxes for a very long time, we are able to use the living room, kitchen, bathrooms and bedroom. I don't know where very much stuff is, but it's there!

The only casualties of moving were the following:
1 Coca-Cola Salt shaker
1 ripped bed sheet
1 plate glassed door

Yep, I broke an entire glass door at our apartment. The weather yesterday was just psycho. The temperature reached 88 degrees and was humid beyond belief. There were tornado warnings everywhere and was fast approaching the Twin Cities. I had to run up to the apartment to pick up the rest of the food from the kitchen, so I made a dash up there thinking I had plenty of time.

The longer I was there, the darker and more windy it became. So as I'm carrying the cooler, my last load, out the door I pushed open the backdoor of the building to step outside. As I used my foot to push the door, the wind grabbed it, blew it against the brick wall and shattered glass everywhere. I was very lucky.

I only sustained a small cut on my hand, but of course it bled profusely down my hand. I stood there not knowing what to do, so I went and put the cooler in the car and walked over to the neighbor lady who works at the rental office. She is a dear-more worried about my hand then anything. She went to make the call to the fix it guys, when they happened to walk out to the parking lot and saw the door. I felt so bad-but they were awesome and knew the wind did it. So, I left them to fix the mess as I drove home with my hand wrapped up in kleenex.

I was wearing shorts, sandals and a tshirt. I could have been cut a lot worse. But I still felt like a dumb ass.

The sirens did blow around 8pm last night, but I think it was just cuz of the winds. We were in the midst of cooking a late supper, so we didn't go downstairs. I stood and looked out the door because it was way cooler to watch. There were also wild fires earlier in the day that burned up about 500 acres, so it was crazy. Once again, April in Minnesota is unpredictable in the weather department.
